Genoans are exorcising the ghost of the Angora fire using a frontloader and a dump truck. The town is replacing the road base installed last spring that had a high concentration of cement from the foundations of homes destroyed in the fire with one that's not quite so dusty.

Work looks like it's just about finished on First Street in Minden next to the old Copeland Lumber building. When they're done it looks like it will be a nice place to unload folks for future shows held there.

The thunderstorms are out of the forecast for Friday for now and the slow slide in the high temperature has begun. Today expect clear skies and a high of 83 degrees. The wind will pick up a bit tonight and Friday, with gusts hitting 25 mph.
