Northern 1A power Carlin dominated the visiting Coleville football team over the weekend, crushing the Wolves 92-44.
"I never would have believed that you could score 44 points on 466 total yards of offense and get completely embarrassed," said Coleville coach Will Sandy. "Our defense that has been struggling was just awful. We couldn't tackle, we took plays off and we just didn't play with any intensity."
The Wolves defense gave up 508 yards rushing and 226 yards passing.
Coleville's offense played very well against a very tough Carlin team. Quarterback Jason Peters was under pressure all day but still managed to complete 20 of 42 passes for 359 yards with 4 touchdowns. Peters also scrambled for 64 yards on the ground adding two more touchdowns rushing.
Split end Emmi Sandoval led the Coleville receivers with 213 yards receiving on 9 receptions including two touchdown catches. Sandoval's longest reception went for 65 yards. Flanker Colton Ward added 96 yards receiving on 6 receptions and scored once on a 22-yard reception. Tight end Jay Clark also had a touchdown reception and ended the contest with 47 receiving yards.
Freshman quarterback Cody Clark gained his first career rushing yards going for 14 yards on 4 attempts. Freshman fullback Matt Randall added 4 yards on two carries.
