League hosts voter forum

The League of Women Voters is hosting a candidates' forum 6:30-9 p.m. Oct. 16 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event hosted by the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. The forum is sponsored by the Timken-Sturgis Foundation.

Questions will be submitted by audience members.

Assembly 39 candidates JoEtta Brown, a Democrat, and Dave Schumann, an Independent-American, are the first to be questioned.

Republican incumbent James Settelmeyer is unable to attend.

Commission candidates will begin at 7:15 p.m.

They are: District 1, Anje de Knijf, Democrat and Greg Lynn, Republican; District 3, Republican incumbent Doug Johnson and Independent-American Eric Rieman, and District 5, Democrat Nancy Epstein and Republican Mike Olson.

Panelists include moderator Maud Naroll, Peggy Twedt, Greta Hambsch and Dorothy Gardner.
