In its final tuneup before a key Sierra League Showdown with Bishop Manogue, the Douglas High volleyball team rolled to an easy win against Wooster Thursday night in Minden.
The Tigers continued to show off their impressive service game, recording 18 aces in the 25-10, 25-17, 25-11 win.
Standout middle blocker Jessica Waggoner was in Seattle on an official recruiting visit and the bulk of Douglas' starting lineup sat out after the first game to rest up for Tuesday's home matchup with the Miners.
Jourdan Burke had nine kills, Taryn Williams had eight, Jamie Lorntzen had six, Shannon Dugan, Christine DuPuis, Jackie Harper and Bryanna Schinzing each had two and Emily Garcia added one in Douglas' balanced atttack.
Harper had 16 assists for the Tigers while Megan Mitchell added seven.
Harper and Rebecca Antti each had four aces, Lorntzen, Jordan Marsh, Mitchell and Mysta Townsell each had two and Burke and DuPuis each added one.
Defensively, Lorntzen led the team with eight blocks and Townsell had eight digs.
Burke had four blocks, Mitchell, Schinzing and Williams each had three, Antti had two and Dugan had one.
Williams had five digs, Burke had four, Mia Townsell had four, DuPuis, Lorntzen, Mitchell and Schinzing each had two and Antti and Marsh each had one.
Douglas improved to 22-1 overall and 4-0 in league play with the win.
Douglas improved to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in league with a 25-10, 25-18 win over Wooster.
Douglas improved to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in league play with a 25-10, 25-21 win.
Coach David Trujillo said that he is extremely happy with the team.
"They are a great group of girls, very enthusiastic and motivated," he said.
Against Wooster, Cassi Uhart had three aces and two kills, Laural Brown had one ace and two kills, Demi Cole had three aces and four kills, Karyn Eck had two kills, while Amanda Wartgow had one.
Crissy McLaughlin had one ace. Hailey Sclafani led the team with an outstanding performance of seven aces and 12 assists.
