Editor:
On behalf of the Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County, I would like to thank the following individuals and businesses who helped make our second annual Walk in Memory, Walk for Hope a huge success: the Town of Gardnerville for donating the use of Heritage Park; Lori Britton, owner of A Wildflower, for donating the beautiful bouquet; Linda Mellows, owner of Coffee on Main, for donating coffee and hot chocolate; Mickey and Lynsie Garcia and Anne Armijo for sharing your personal stories; Debra Higginson, Amanda Johnson, Linda Gilkerson, Dori Draper, Jamie, Tracey Waddleton and all of the THEO and STOP students for their help with organizing and supporting the survivors; the 4-H Cooperative Extension Office for the use of their PA system and microphone; Smith's Food and Drug for the balloons; Sheila Gardner and Shannon Litz from The Record-Courier for your on-going support and coverage of SPN's events. And finally, a heartfelt thank you to all of the brave and courageous survivors who came out and supported one another. Each year we hope to expand in numbers across the entire state of Nevada to send the message that we can all work together to help prevent suicide and save lives.
