A woman who was arrested last year for possession of a controlled substance is scheduled to be sentenced today in Douglas County District Court this morning. Carol Lynn Lewis, 44, is scheduled to appear in Judge Michael Gibbon's courtroom this morning. She was arrested Feb. 9, 2008, with methamphetamine at Hobo Hot Springs. Some parts of the Carson River drainage basin did a lot better than others. According to the National Weather Service, Ebbetts Pass was at 100 percent snow pack at the end of March, hitting 44.2 inches. Other places at the top of the river also did well with Spratt Creek at 95 percent, Poison Flat at 94 percent. Blue Lakes hit 89 percent for the year so far, while Monitor Pass was at 88 percent. The further down in altitude you come, the less moisture hit, which is probably OK. Minden made it to 65 percent of average by the end of the year, while Markleeville was at 62 percent. Carson was the bottom of the rung with half of its normal moisture for the year, so far. If not another flake of snow falls at Ebbetts Pass, it will have it 79 percent, according to the weather service.
Today will be sunny with a high of 66 degrees and a breeze out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Starting Tuesday, it may get a little damp, with a small chance of showers every day through Saturday. Lows will hover around freezing over the next week.
