A woman who allegedly backed into another car in a Minden convenience store parking lot while under the influence of alcohol is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning for felony DUI. Jasmine Amber Coty, 27, was arrested Feb. 8 after deputies were called to the accident.

It's going to be a stormy night tonight and I'm not talking about the weather. Members of the Indian Hills General Improvement District board are meeting at 6 p.m. to discuss the replacement of trustee William Eisele. Also on the agenda is a sewer rate increase from $23.54 to $28.69 a month and the district's arsenic treatment plant.

At 7 p.m. Genoans are meeting in the town board chambers to discuss an alteration to the contract signed by independent fair holders Martha Williams and Phil Stoll requiring them to submit to jurying this year. Williams said that the deal was they would observe the town's jurying process this year and come back next year and decide what to do. The alternative is that Williams will have to apply for her own festival permit. The town juries its vendors to ensure their crafts are what they say they are.

The wind will be back today as a cold front rolls into the Valley. It will pick up this afternoon and evening with gusts of 40-45 mph, and higher gusts in wind-prone areas. Expect Sierra ridge gusts of up to 80 mph.
