Carson Valley Christian Fellowship closed on their new site on Good Friday, but it will be a while before the congregation is able to come out of the wilderness and gather at their new home.
Pastor Leo Kruger came by on Wednesday to talk about how his church is doing after the debate earlier this year.
He said a lot of the neighbors have turned around on the project and provided some valuable suggestions.
Since the church has moved out of the old Meadowdale Theater, though, he said some people have wondered where they are now.
Church offices are at Tillman Corners near Silver Strike Lanes. Saturday night services are being held behind the bowling alley (no jokes about thunder and bowling in heaven, please), and at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School on Sunday.
Check the church's Web site at www.valleycf.org for more information and directions.
Pastor Leo said they hope to have the new church built in time for their 20th anniversary in November 2010, but there's a lot of stuff to get through before that.
"There's a lot of dirt to be moved, a lot of things that need to be done, and a lot of money to raise," he said.
Friends of Molly Lahlum have opened a bank account to help her family with uncovered expenses after she collapsed while competing at a swim meet in Carson last week.
The account is at U.S. Bank inside the Gardnerville Smith's under Molly Lahlum Donation Account, No. 153753499570.
The contacts on the account are Paula Hennefer at 790-0070 or bank Branch Manager Jody Limmel.
A Web site so friends can track her progress is located at www.caringbridge.org/visit/mollylahlum.
