A Gardnerville man facing a charge of attempted robbery waived a preliminary hearing on Friday.

Andrew William Tagay, 20, agreed that he would go to district court to plead guilty in connection with a March 12 incident.

Under an agreement with prosecutors, Tagay faces 2-5 years in prison, plus a 12-30-month gang enhancement.

Justice of the Peace Jim EnEarl set an April 27 arraignment date for Tagay. He also faces a probation violation charge in connection with the incident.

Another man involved in the case is denying involvement and pleaded innocent.

Miguel Rubio, 21, is charged with attempted battery. He denied he was involved with a gang on Tuesday.
