Man accused of killing puppy, guinea pigs

MINDEN, Nev. " A 24-year-old Gardnerville man was jailed on $10,000 cash bail accused of killing a puppy and three guinea pigs.

Andrew Hamann was charged with animal cruelty, a misdemeanor.

He was jailed on Thursday.

According to reports, Hamann admitted to investigators that he killed his puppy a year ago and his girlfriend's guinea pigs over the past few months.

He reportedly told investigators killing the animals gave him an adrenaline rush and he was frightened by his behavior.

He is set to appear in East Fork Justice Court on April 29.

Justice Jim EnEarl refused to release Hamann pending an evaluation by a psychologist.
