A Nevada health official says the first case of swine flu has been confirmed in a person in the Reno area.
Nevada state Health Division spokeswoman Martha Framsted said state laboratory officials received lab results Wednesday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta showing that a patient in Washoe County has the disease.
Framsted wouldn't release any other information about the patient, who she says is "recovering well."

Besser said there are cases now in ten states, with 51 in New York, 14 in California and 16 in Texas. Two cases have been confirmed in Kansas, Massachusetts and Michigan, while a single cases have been reported in Arizona, Indiana, and Ohio in addition to the Silver State
Nevada Health Division officials will be making a presentation to the Assembly Health and Human Services Committee on steps being taken to prepare for potential outbreak of swine flu 1:30 p.m. today at the Legislative Building, Carson City, Room 3138. The presentation will be videoconferenced to Room 4401 of the Grant Sawyer State Office Building in Las Vegas
