The Douglas High School Spring Art Show is 6-9 p.m. today in the Douglas High School Media Center. In addition to students' artwork, there will be entertainment by the Douglas High Jazz Band and the Madrigal groups. There will be a silent auction of some pieces to benefit an art scholarship.
Highway 28 between Spooner Junction and Incline Village will close for most of the month of May starting Sunday. That's just the beginning of construction season in Northern Nevada. If you're going to Incline over the next couple of weeks, use the Mount Rose Highway.
The odds that it is going to rain this weekend have shot upwards, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 50 percent chance of rain on Friday night climbing to 60 percent on Saturday. Today will be sunny with a high near 63 degrees. The wind will be back with gusts of up to 25 mph.
