EDITOR:
The Carson Valley Tai Chi Club wishes to thank everyone concerned in making our World Tai Chi/Qigong Day a success April 25.
First, the Town of Minden for use of the park and sound system (Trish Koepnick and Don Wilkes).
I don't think they had anything to do with the weather, but it was a beautiful day. Next, the Douglas County Recreation Department, primarily Sheryl Christian, for co-sponsoring the event.
Doug Armstrong for bringing his group down for the seventh year in a row for fascinating demonstrations.
This year we were treated to hard martial art applications of Tai Chi movements by his black belt instructors.
Byron Waite handled the sound system again. Syena Sowden came all the way in from Fallon to lead her MoTiYoGaChi routine. Everyone got loosened up during that part of the program.
Theresa Danna took many photos of the event and sent them on to me, so I could upload them to the WTCQD Web site for the rest of the world to enjoy.
Chochain Lee took a lot of videos so we could eventually upload them to the web site. Then the Douglas CATV Channel 16, Tammy James, for on-air advertising of the show.
Helen Swanson was our registrar again, and made sure everyone signed in. Ginny Cardenas did a great job of leading the Yang Short Form, and putting on the broadsword demonstration.
Also, thanks to Diane Ortenzio-Cooling for updating our flyers and posters each year, and the "bravehost" Web site. Who have I forgotten?
Oh, last but not least, The Record-Courier for putting notices in the paper of our upcoming event.
Thanks again to everyone, and we hope to do it again next year, last Saturday in April 2010.
