Brandon Watson only played one inning Sunday night, but made it count by blasting a pair of doubles and knocking in the eventual game-winning run, as Reno came back to defeat the Sky Sox 10-9 at Aces Ballpark.
Reno trailed 9-3 heading into the seventh when it exploded for seven runs off three Colorado Springs pitchers. Watson started the rally by smacking a pinch-hit double to left. After a Trent Oeltjen home run, John Hester hit an RBI-double and Abraham Nunez added a 2-run single before Watson added his second double of the inning, driving in two and putting Reno ahead for good.
Seth Etherton started for the Aces but was lifted in the fourth after a 56-minute rain delay. Four Reno relievers finished the game, with Reid Mahon (1-1) earning the win and Scott Dohmann (3) picking up the save.
Matt Herges (1-1) took the loss for Colorado Springs after allowing the eventual game-winning run. Adam Eaton started and threw six innings of three-run ball before being lifted to begin the seventh.
Oeltjen and Hester each chipped in three hits and two RBI. Nunez and Brandon Allen also had multi-hit games for the Aces.
