The R-C Morning Report

If your commute takes you to Incline Village over Highway 28, better take the long route this morning. The highway is closed at Highway 50 and at the Mount Rose Junction due to a washout. Crews are working to get it back up by Tuesday, maybe.

Most of the major lightning strikes managed to miss us on Sunday. There were a couple of single tree fires set by lightning, but none in Douglas County. A fire weather watch goes into effect on Tuesday afternoon due to gusty winds and low humidity and will return Wednesday afternoon. Winds with speeds of 15-20 mph and gusts of up to 35 mph will bring the humidity down to below 10 percent.

There's a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms today with a high of 88 degrees. Winds will increase in the afternoon to between 10 and 15 mph. The front will allegedly bring cooler weather with it, with the highs at 80 degrees by Friday.
