On behalf of the Carson Valley Trails Association, I want to thank the community for supporting our first "Hike for Health" Hike-a-Thon.
The 128 Hike-a-Thon participants logged more than 2,000 miles between April 22 and June 6, and raised more than $13,500 to support the construction of the 24-mile Genoa Foothill Trail System project.
Funded primarily by a Nevada Division of State Lands Question 1 grant, this project will provide a wonderful new trail system that will include a connection to the Tahoe Rim Trail.
