The Douglas County 4-H and FFA members from Carson Valley Shepherds, Carson Valley Beef, and Douglas High School FFA participated in the Eastern Sierra Tri- County Fair on July 15-18 in Bishop, Calif. At the fair, sheep, beef, hogs, turkeys, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and goats were shown.

Beef Showmanship was held on July 15 with Jessa Gansberg placing first in Intermediate Showmanship and Bailey Gansberg placing first in Junior Showmanship. Beef market classes and sheep showmanship classes were July 16. Market lambs and breeding sheep were shown and the Grand Drive to pick the champions and master showmanship was on July 17.

In Master Showmanship, youth placing first in their species showmanship compete to show beef, sheep, and swine. Alumni and the Little Brother/Little Sister showmanship was July 18. Local rancher Todd Gansberg placed first in Alumni Showmanship, proving he hasn't lost his touch and winning a cash award to be donated to the beef and sheep club. There was also a livestock judging contest. Later in the evening, a buyer's dinner and awards ceremony was held prior to the auction where the market animals were sold.

Kelsey Nalder received first place in her market class and Reserve Champion 4-H Lamb. She also got the Reserve Grand Champion Lamb overall and got third place in showmanship.

Cheyenne Bidart got Grand Champion Master Showman and first place in senior showmanship. She also got first place in the spring ewe class and the Reserve Grand Champion Ewe.
