Hat Creek fire source of smoke

The more than 11,000-acre Hat Creek fire complex is producing the smoke in Western Nevada, according to the National Weather Service's satellite fire detection Web site. The smoke from the fire is spreading out all over Northern California and Western Nevada.

The fire is burning northwest of Susanville, and consists of three large fires and 34 smaller fires.
