An 18-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man was charged with petit larceny on Aug. 7, accused of taking two video games from Target.
Nelson Joseph Pabon, III was jailed on $25,000 bail. He was accused of taking the games, worth nearly $50, off the store shelf, opening the package and leaving the store with the items in his pocket.
He was stopped by Target security personnel who recovered the games, which are considered worthless because the packaging was opened.
Security personnel, who videotaped the incident, alleged Pabon had been in a few nights earlier and taken three games which were not recovered before he got away.
Store employees said they recognized Pabon when he returned because of his Afro hairstyle.
According to investigators, he reportedly admitted taking all items.
Pabon's next court appearance is Wednesday. East Fork Justice Pro Tem Paul Gilbert appointed Kris Brown to represent him.
Gilbert reduced his bail from $25,000 to $500 cash.
