Alpine's Native Sons host barbecue Saturday

Alpine's Parlor 200 of the Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West host a barbecue, 3 p.m. Saturday, at Turtle Rock Park in Markleeville. The event includes a tri-tip dinner, horseshoe tournament and other games. Cost is $15. Information, (530) 694-2473.

Many officers of the Native Sons and Daughters will be coming from Auburn, Georgetown, Ione, Jamestown, Napa, San Francisco to honor the Alpine Parlor. The purpose of the Sons and Daughters of the Golden West is to promote California and its communities, contribute to its charities and provide good fellowship.
