Nevada gas prices up a dime to $2.75 average

RENO, Nev. - Gas prices in Nevada have risen a dime a gallon over the past month to an average of $2.75 for self-serve unleaded.

AAA Nevada spokesman Michael Gesser says the good news is that all indications point to gas prices remaining fairly steady the rest of the summer.

The national average has climbed 12 cents a gallon since mid-July to $2.64.

Nevada now has the fifth highest average gas price in Lower 48 states, trailing only California, Washington, Connecticut and Oregon. Hawaii has the highest average price in the country at $3.20. California's is $3.05.

The highest average in Nevada is $2.86 in Sparks and the lowest is $2.69 in Elko and North Las Vegas. In Las Vegas it is $2.70, Reno $2.84 and Carson City $2.83.
