A Minden tree nursery has agreed to a pay $5,440 to settle U.S. Environmental Protection Agency allegations that it misused pesticides.
The EPA accused Genoa Tree Nursery of failing to comply with labeling pesticide requirements and worker safety laws in May and June 2008.
Specifically, the agency said the company didn't notify workers of recent pesticide applications on particular fails or advise them of the nearest emergency medical care in the event of exposure.
The Nevada Department of Agriculture discovered the violations during a routine inspection in June 2008.
