A celebration of life is 10 a.m. Saturday at David Walley's Resort for Gardnerville resident Richard "Dick" Suschena, 70, who died Aug. 9, 2009, in the presence of family and friends at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare.
Mr. Suschena was born Feb. 3, 1939, in Hartford, Conn., to Paul and Lottie Suschena.
He came to Nevada for a summer job in Lake Tahoe and never left the state. He was a well-known bartender, working 35 years at Harrah's Lake Tahoe followed by several years at David Walley's Resort & Hot Springs. He will be remembered for being a loving father and friend.
He is survived by sons James Suschena of Dayton and Adam Suschena of Gardnerville, daughter Chelsea Suschena of Reno, step-son Michael James of Reno, two brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, one step-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers be sent. All are invited to share pictures and memories at Saturday's celebration of life. FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for arrangements.
