The 3,500-acre Yuba fire is sending some smoke into Carson Valley. The fire, which is burning northwest of Grass Valley in Yuba County, has been burning since Friday, when a bird flew into a power line. It's claimed two homes and injured 15 people. There have been evacuations as a result of the fire.

An admitted marijuana salesman faces up to six years in prison this morning in Douglas County District Court. Sean Thorpe, 28, was arrested in October after delivering 1-3/4 pounds of marijuana. A search of his home revealed more than a pound of marijuana, 40 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a couple of Ecstasy pills and $3,500 in cash. He told Judge Dave Gamble in May that he made his living selling marijuana.
