Gov. Jim Gibbons Tuesday named Charles Harvey, assistant Clark County recorder, Nevada ARRA coordinator.

Harvey, along with a still unnamed executive assistant, will manage the

$2.2 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding Nevada is slated to receive over the next 18 months.

"The governor wants to make sure the stimulus funds jump-start the economy and help as many Nevadans as possible and I believe the same thing," said Harvey. "I will work to make sure Nevada receives every cent of the stimulus money we deserve and I will make sure the stimulus money creates jobs, keeps jobs and helps the people of Nevada who need it most.

Harvey has worked for the Clark County recorder for 10 years, overseeing the recording and archiving of records which generated $1.2 billion in taxes and fees. He is also a case management coordinator for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas.

He has also worked for the U.S. Geological Survey, Bechtel and the U.S. Air Force.
