A 21-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man plans to request admission to Western Regional Drug Court after he enters a plea to a charge of selling heroin.

Kevin Oliver waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday in East Fork Justice Court and is to appear Sept. 1 before Judge Dave Gamble in District Court.

His lawyer, Tod Young, said Oliver plans to plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested last week after Douglas County deputies received a tip through Secret Witness that Oliver allegedly was selling heroin.

The sheriff's Street Enforcement Team recovered three balloons of heroin from Oliver on Aug. 13 when they took him into custody.

He is in Douglas County Jail on $15,000 bail.
