El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson has filed a criminal complaint charging Phillip Greg Garrido and Nancy Garrido with 28 felony counts stemming from the 1991 abduction of 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard from a South Lake Tahoe street.
The couple was arraigned at 1 p.m. today in El Dorado County Superior Court in Placerville.
The felony counts include forcible abduction, rape, sexual assault, and false imprisonment. The maximum penalty under the Complaint is multiple life terms for both defendants, Pierson said.
