A 40-year-old Gardnerville woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to driving under the influence after she was pulled over for reckless driving in a van with five 11- and 12-year-old passengers.

Jennifer Lynn Pearce is to be sentenced Sept. 16, at which time she is to enter a plea to a charge of contributing to the neglect of a child.

Both charges are misdemeanors.

Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to maintain a travel lane were dismissed.

Pearce was pulled over June 5 when a motorist who followed her through town reported she was swerving across the road, running stop signs and hitting curbs and medians.

Her preliminary breath test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .20, more than twice the legal limit of .08 for driving in Nevada.

She was driving with five 11- and 12-year-old girls in the van who were released to the custody of their parents.
