Editor's Note: This letter was sent to Douglas County commissioners.
EDITOR:
Dear Mr. Lynn, Mr. Brady, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Olson and Ms. McDermid,
I want to refresh your memory relative to the "temporary" motocross which you permitted to operate on county land for a period of 19 days during the months of June through September, 2009.
At the very same meeting, earlier this year, all of the commissioners made it clearly stated that Steve Brown and his group must find a permanent location that would be more conducive (and less intrusive) if they plan to apply again to the commissioners.
In that light, I am amazed to learn that the Douglas County commissioners have once again placed this matter for consideration on their agenda for the meeting on Thursday.
The five commissioners, along with Chamber of Commerce Director Bill Chernock, seem to have evolved into bobble-head dolls of a sort; not only that, but your memories of your commitments to your county voters and your ability and/or desire to hear the wishes and concerns of the majority of voters seem to have deteriorated.
Having attended the meetings earlier this year personally, I want you to be assured that I have no memory deficit whatsoever.
If you can find enough motocross voters to re-elect you in either 2010 or 2012, I say more power to you. On the other hand, if the truth and reality is as I believe it to be, and you bobble your heads once again in the affirmative for the perpetuation of the "one year temporary motocross facility," you must realize that 2010 and 2012 are, in effect, your term limits. I will absolutely, definitely and without any reservation, vote you out of office.
Jonathan Brown
