The Carson Valley Arts Council's fourth annual concert series continues with singer/songwriter Lisa Dawn Miller, 7 p.m. Thursday, at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a no-host reception. Tickets are $20 for nonmembers, $17 for members.
Lisa Dawn Miller is the daughter of Ron Miller, who wrote hits songs including, "For Once In My Life," "Touch Me In The Morning" and "Place In The Sun."
Miller pursued a career as a stockbroker before following in her father's footsteps as a songwriter. She sings with a beautiful soprano voice and is a songwriter of her own right.
She often makes appearances with husband Sande Hackett, son of comedian Buddy Hackett. Miller presents a holiday treat of songs that are both familiar and new. Examples of Miller's music may be heard at www.lisadawnmiller.com
Proceeds benefit community programming of the Carson Valley Arts Council, which is dedicated to serving Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe communities through excellence in arts programming. Coming up at arts center
The Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Holiday Concert features the Triada Trio, 7 p.m. Dec. 11, at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center ArtBar, 1572 Highway 395, Minden.
The show features classical guitar and holiday music by Triada, a trio of Bulgarian brothers. Performances include arrangements of J.S. Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3," "Greensleeves," selections from "The Nutcracker Suite," and the Vivaldi trio for lute, violin and basso continuo.
Advanced sale tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 62 and older and $5 for students under 30.
