The new home for emergency operations in Minden will be open to the public Saturday.
The East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts offices and Douglas County Emergency Operations Center will hold an open house and dedication 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at 1694 County Road.
The former Department of Motor Vehicles office was renovated to include 6,400 square feet at a cost of $802,475, according to the districts.
Funding for the renovation came from the districts and an intergovernmental loan from Douglas County under a 15-year purchase agreement.
The districts have been in four locations during their 25-year history. Their most recent location in the Minden Inn provided less than a third of the new building's space.
In addition to the districts' administrative offices, the new offices has 1,800 square feet for an emergency operation center that doubles as meeting space for both the district and the county.
The office also has an emergency generator to provide backup power and the server room for the districts and the Douglas County Public Library.
