It's "Day After Tomorrow" cold out there this morning. We've got 6 degrees up on the bench, and Minden's showing a reading of 3 degrees below zero. Road controls this morning look an awful like they did on Monday, with chains or snow tires required on highways 395, 50, 28, 207 and Kingsbury Grade, chains or four-wheel drive are required over Echo Summit and Carson Pass. Trucks are being required to chain up over Interstate 80. Expect the roads to be slick.
Douglas County School Board trustees meet 3:30 p.m. today at Douglas High School in Minden to discuss the possible selection of an interim superintendent and the process for hiring a new superintendent. They'll also be working on the bond, and perhaps get a little of the criticism we've been reading about keeping the schools open in Monday's blizzard.
Today's forecast calls for cold, sunny weather with a high temperature of 27 and a low tonight of 1 degree. The high will get up over freezing on Wednesday, as the next burst of weather gets ready to arrive on Thursday.
