Volunteers needed. A planning meeting for the 11th annual Noel Christmas Dinner is 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Volunteers needed for set-up, food preparation, serving and clean-up of the Christmas dinner. Singles or couples who will be alone on Christmas Day are invited to the Christmas dinner. Angel Trees. Sponsor a child in need for Christmas by picking an angel from one of the Project Santa Claus Angel Trees at Taylor-York Salon, Tumblewind, Bently Biofuels, Sharkey's, Raley's, Scolari's, R & T Cleaners and Carson Valley Medical Center. Senior dinner. Carson Valley Residential Care Center serves a free turkey dinner and pumpkin pie for seniors 65 and older at 1 p.m. on Christmas Day. The center's 16-passenger bus provides transportation for those who need it. Make reservations by Dec. 21 by calling 265-1400, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Carson Valley Residential Care Center is at 1189 Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
