The Gardnerville snow horse, sculpted from recent snowfall in front of the Angler's Edge store, needs a name.

Suggestions should be sent to namethesnowhorse@gmail.com. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to The Angler's Edge and online store. The deadline is Thursday.

The horse was created by Liz and Victoria Weirauch on Dec. 12. The horse is a dressage horse based on the German stallion Samba Hit I and some local Friesian horses.

The creators have decided the horse is a stallion and an up and coming Grand Prix competitor.

"He's very well behaved and hasn't bitten, kicked, nipped or taken off with anyone," Weirauch joked. "We did a little calculating and he appears to be 17 hands at the shoulder with a fine, shiny white coat. We feel he's a solid competitor, and we would like his name to be something fun, creative, unique and noble."
