Girls' Basketball: JV goes unbeaten in tournament

The Lady Tiger JV squad went 3-0 at the High Sierra Winter Classic at Spanish Springs over the weekend.

Douglas beat Truckee in the opener 40-37, getting 16 points from Holly Downer, eight from Amanda Wartgow, six from Cora Moody, five from Kelsey Walsh, two each from Jillian Olivera and Alexyss Easlick and one from Megan King.

King, Walsh and Sophie Wilson had strong games on the boards and on defense.

The Tigers edged Reed 35-33 in the second game, getting 18 points from Walsh, nine from Downer and two each from Wartgow, King, Moody and Cassidy Curtis.

Douglas finished off the tournament beating Reno 51-22.

Downer led the team with 17, Walsh had 12, Wartgow, Easlick and Moody each had five and Wilson had two.
