The Douglas girls' basketball team bounced back from a pair of tough defeats in the High Sierra Winter Classic, to win its final two games.
The Tigers fell back 13-1 early on against Lassen on Saturday, but came roaring back to win 37-35 on a pair of free throws from Tia Lyons with four seconds left in the game.
Ne'Jae Jackson led the Tigers with 12 points, while Jackie Harper added 11.
"We had a couple tough games there, but the girls just rolled their shoulders back and got after it," Douglas coach Werner Christen said. "We made a couple adjustments as a staff, but it was mostly them fighting through it and figuring it out.
"We fell back early there, but we tried to stress it was still early. They did a good job of coming back."
Douglas (3-4) beat Gridley 57-46 to close out the tournament, getting 15 points from Harper, 13 from Jackson and 10 from Bri Burnside.
"We just played pretty well overall. Getting that close game experience is just something you can't duplicate in practice," Christen said. "That's why we play those early games. They're learning every day."
