Crafts fair this weekend

Holiday fair Saturday

A holiday fair hosted by H&S Construction and Development Dynamics is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 26 at the Stodick Estates model home, 1380 Stodick Lane, Gardnerville. Vintage jewelry, collectibles, pottery, linens, art, stocking stuffers, designer clothes. Coffee, hot cider, light snacks served. Donations of boots and socks for needy children accepted. Equestrian games

Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center hosts a Christmas program and mounted games, noon Saturday, at the center, 551 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Bring your own horse, $20 to enter. Event depends on the weather. Make reservations with Kristen, 265-7371. All levels welcome to improve riding skills at exercise and riding classes held noon Wednesdays and 4 p.m. Thursdays. Free family movie day

The Partnership of Community Resources hosts a free movie day Dec. 27 at Ironwood Stadium Cinema 8 in Minden. Make reservations at 782-8611. Students must be accompanied by parent or guardian. High Sierra Fellowship

Alternative Christmas

Carson Valley United Methodist Church hosts an alternative Christmas event, 7 p.m. Monday, at the church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. The purpose of the gathering is recognize feelings of loss, despair, anger and anxiety that don't fit with the season, and to help make the holiday less depressing and more manageable.
