Anyone seeking to comment on the follow-up annual performance evaluation of County Manager T. Michael Brown at the Douglas County Board of Commissioners meeting today should get there early so they can talk during public comment. The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. and is being held at the Tahoe Transportation Center in Stateline.

Also on today's agenda is a public hearing on grant applications submitted by the Sierra Nevada Community Land Trust and the Carson Valley Children's Center and a presentation on a water rate increase for the Zephyr Water Utility District.

A score of people turned out for Wednesday's airport ordinance meeting in Minden. A copy of the ordinance is available at douglascountynv.gov. If you want to comment on the ordinance you may do so by e-mailing info@mindentahoeairport.com before Jan. 30.

The National Weather Service is calling for patchy freezing fog before noon today. I can see lights across the Valley this morning, so I'm not sure how much of a problem it will be for us, but it might affect the commute to Reno, so be careful. The last of the road controls have evaporated into the mist, though. Expect the temperature to climb into the 40s today. On Wednesday, it was all the way up to 50.
