The holidays will do what 14 inches of snow couldn't do, close Douglas County schools. Today is the last day of school before the winter break. Students will be returning Jan. 4.
There's definitely some freezing fog in the Valley this morning. The National Weather Service said it will burn off by noon. It's sticking around in the forecast through the weekend. Early next week the forecast is for a chance of rain on Monday. The snow level will be about 4,900 feet.
I'm putting together the letters to Santa today for publication Sunday. Just so everyone knows, we've got a big stack of school features from the rush during these days before schools' out. We'll be running them during the break, so everyone will get a turn.
