The Carson Valley Inn celebrates New Year's Eve with year-end specials in Fiona's Bar and Grill and Katie's Country Kitchen, a $10,000 cash giveaway the last three days of 2009 and live oldies tunes in the Cabaret Lounge with Shake, Rattle 'n' Roll.
Fiona's Bar and Grill offers its regular dinner menu plus two specials, 4:30-10 p.m. on New Year's Eve: grilled flat iron steak with port wine sauce and pan-seared swordfish with bay shrimp and roasted corn salsa. Make New Year's Eve reservations for Fiona's at 783-6650. Express lunch is served in Fiona's on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Katie's Country Kitchen has two dinner specials from 4-9 p.m. on New Year's Eve in addition to the Katie's 24-hour menu: fire-grilled top sirloin served with baked potato and fresh vegetables or slow-roasted prime rib and king crab legs with baked potato, fresh vegetables and drawn butter. Both specials include a choice of garden salad or soup of the day, bakery fresh breads and a dessert choice of chocolate mousse, apple pie or ice cream.
There will be $10,000 in cash given away to lucky seat winners at the CVI over the last three days of 2009. Use your INN Club card while playing in the casino to qualify for the drawings: 50 winners of $50 cash from noon to 8 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 30, and 100 winners of $50 cash from noon to midnight on Dec. 31. Shake, Rattle 'n' Roll appears in the Cabaret Lounge on Dec. 29 - Jan. 3 with authentic recreations of classic rock and roll tunes of the '50s, '60s and '70s. The band features Steve Baldwin on lead vocals, Andy Highhouse on guitar, Michael Tucker on bass and vocals, Alan Zucker on drums and Bill Crane on keyboards and vocals. With a song list of more than 500 classic hits, Shake, Rattle 'n' Roll keeps audiences rocking after the show is over.
