The R-C Morning Report

It's the first day of winter, so there should be no surprise that it's 45 degrees outside. It's likely that the sound of water you hear is the snow melting off the roof, not rain. The rain's coming tonight, after 4 p.m. The high today is expected to hit 49, and that's probably going to happen this morning. Expect winds of 10-15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph. Good news, the fog is gone for a couple of days.

A drunken driving accident case is back in Douglas County District Court this morning for a review. Randy D. Vaught was sentenced to 10 years in prison last week in connection with an injury accident. Also back in court for a review is the case of Marcel Wyatt, who was also sentenced for fighting with deputies last week.

The Christmas holiday has begun for Douglas County school children, which means school is out. Keep an eye peeled for them while you're out and about this morning.
