Basketball: CVMS wins Tah-Neva hoops title

Editor's Note: A story appeared in Friday's paper on the Carson Valley Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade boys' basketball teams winning their respective conference titles. It was discovered after publishing that our community sports Web site, to which the majority of our youth sports information is submitted by local coaches, was not forwarding some important statistical information to The R-C for print. As a result, some key players were omitted from the article. The technical glitch has been addressed and an article with the missing stats appears below.


The Carson Valley Middle School seventh-grade boys' basketball team won the Tah-Neva Conference Championship recently.

The Tigers defeated Eagle Valley 37-28, Pau-Wa-Lu 28-25 and Carson 36-27 to claim the championship.

Against Eagle Valley, Alex Tessmann led the team with 12 points, Dilyn Rooker added 10 and Conner Lyons had six. Austin Croxall had four, Felix Aceves had three and Cale Kynett had two.

Against Pau-Wa-Lu, Lyons and Aceves each scored eight points, Tessmann, Kynett and Rooker each added four and Tyler Cluff had two.

Tessmann led the way against Carson with eight, Croxall had seven with a 3-pointer, Kynett and Aceves each had six, Lyons had five and Rooker had four.

Other players for the Tigers this year included Brandon Sweetland, David Sando, Jordan Peters, Josh Curtis, Nathan Clinger and Tristen Reid.
