Sharks top Coyotes in shootout

SAN JOSE -- Joe Pavelski scored once in regulation and the only goal in the shootout to give the San Jose Sharks a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night.


Devin Setoguchi also scored for the Sharks, who won their fifth straight.


Shane Doan and Matthew Lombardi scored for the Coyotes, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.


Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 36 shots, including all 19 he faced in the third period.


San Jose goalie Evgeni Nabokov made 31 saves.


Coyotes' Keith Yandle hit the crossbar during a power play in overtime.
