It snowed last night and the road controls board looks like some kids got into the Silly String. Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 88 from the state line north to the intersection with 395, Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 from Stateline to Carson City. Chains or four-wheel drive is required on Highway 88 from just past Woodfords all the way to Amador County, on Highway 50 over Echo Summit and on Interstate 80 over Donner Pass.

Heavenly is reported receiving 2 inches of snow on the mountain. Kirkwood reported receiving 2-3 inches during the night. In Genoa, it's snowing right now, though in little flakes. There's about a quarter inch on the cars.

Don't be surprised if you see some fog on the way to work this morning. The forecast for today is mostly cloudy with a high near 37 and a slight chance of more snow after 4 p.m. Tonight the chance of snow goes up to 60 percent, with accumulations of around half an inch. Careful driving in today. The NHP is showing a couple of accidents on Interstate 80 this morning.
