MINDEN, Nev. Staff Reports
Writer-photographer Rick Gunn is to offer a multimedia presentation of his round-the-world bicycle trip at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
Gunn traveled 26,000 miles in two years and 10 months. He called the experience a "transformatic journey."
"My message is that this experience was bigger for me than just traveling around the world on my bicycle. It's about service to mankind," Gunn said.
Those who attend "Soulcycler: Words and Images from a 26,000-mile bicycle journey around the world," will see 350 of the 50,000 pictures he made. He also plans to read a few stories from the 55 journals he filled on the trip.
Gunn has given the presentation to sold-out audiences in Carson City and South Lake Tahoe.
The South Lake Tahoe resident worked as a photographer at the Tahoe Daily Tribune and Nevada Appeal. His award-winning pictures have appeared in The Record-Courier.
Suggested admission to the program is $10. Information, (530) 545-8586.
