GARDNERVILLE, Nev.
Gardnerville residents Joel and Debbie Cowan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 22, 2009.
The Cowans were married Jan. 22, 1959, in Las Vegas. They lived in Southern California and Logan, Utah, before moving to Carson Valley in 1984.
Joel Cowan was in the glass business until three years ago. He is semi-retired and works with a friend in the tile business.
Debbie Cowan was administrator of the Rectory Christian Preschool in Carson City for 15 years. She is semi-retired and teaches at Small Blessings Christian Preschool.
The Cowans have three children, seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.
The Cowan's celebrated their wedding anniversary with a party in the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom hosted by daughter Cathy Buhlig of Castro Valley, Calif. They enjoyed dinner, dancing to their favorite music and sharing memories with family and friends.
