The Douglas high ski team took fifth in the overall standings at the Tahoe Basin League slalom race at Heavenly Ski Resort Thursday.
Both the boys' and girls' teams took fifth in their respective standings as well.
Sophomore Grant Denny was the Tigers' top performer on the day, taking sixth overall. It was also the top finish for any Tiger skier this season. With a strong race Tuesday at Diamond Peak, he can qualify for state.
Tyler Johnson had a pair of strong runs to take 19th, Nolan Lackey finished 26th and Tanner DeGiovanni took 29th.
On the girls' side, Hillary Sapp finished 13th, Dominique Tarter finished 26th, Rachel Babbitt was 29th and Shelby Louie was 32nd.
Whittell's Austin Norton was the top finisher in the entire race, beating the field by eight-tenths of a second.
