Douglas High didn't forget South Tahoe's two-point upset of the Tigers on Jan. 17 in Minden.

Behind Jessica Waggoner's 19 points, the Tigers avenged that loss 49-36 on Tuesday night in South Lake Tahoe. The win sealed a playoff spot for the Tigers, setting up a showdown for the No. 3 seed with Carson Friday night.

Without junior playmaker Alexis Holmes, the South Tahoe girls' basketball team made an inspired effort against Douglas. The Vikings bolted to a 9-0 first-quarter lead, but the Tigers used an 18-4 run in the second quarter to turn the tables.

Holmes missed the game after undergoing surgery for a broken nose suffered in a recent practice.

Cassandra Diaz led the Vikings with 12 points.
