Two Gardnerville Ranchos dogs are in trouble after they got out and killed 15 homing pigeons and four chukar at a home in the 1400 block of Topaz Lane at about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
A representative of the birds' owner tracked the dogs to their home. The dog's owner told a deputy that he chained one dog in the front yard and locked the other in the garage.
A report of the case of destruction of property and dogs at large has been forwarded to animal control and the district attorney's office.
An Indian Hills resident reported her compact disc collection and four prescriptions were removed from her unlocked vehicle sometime during the four hours it was parked in front of her home in the 900 block of Sunview.
She said she parked the vehicle at 1 p.m. Tuesday and when she went outside at 4:50 p.m., the items had been taken.
A Gardnerville Ranchos man reported the theft of a gray BMX Dave Mira bicycle from the 1400 block of Bumblebee on Monday.
The bicycle had a "MiraCo" sticker and was last seen Feb. 6. The bicycle is a year old and worth an estimated $300.
A handgun was reported stolen from a pickup used to commute from Carson Valley to Pickel Meadows. The weapon, a silver and black .45 Nighthawk, has been missing for about two weeks. The owner said he kept it in the door of his pickup. A friend who borrowed the vehicle said he might have left it unlocked.
