Weekly meetings for the Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City scholarship programs begin 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Indian Hills General Improvement District board room, 3394 James Lee Park Road, Carson City. Feb. 17 is the last day to become a contestant in the March 28 pageant.

The programs are open to residents of Storey, Lyon, Douglas and Carson City counties. Women 17-24 are invited to attend the meeting about the 2009 pageant. Contact directors Sarah Ferris, (775) 721-2928 or Shauna Bartshe, (775) 230-3745.
